Best Airbnb Near Yosemite

Looking for a great Airbnb near Yosemite? We’ve got you! Finding an awesome place to stay in Yosemite can be a tough thing to do at any time of year. Add limited hotel capacities and closed campgrounds, and things might start to seem a bit grim. Lucky for us, there are some options!

There are a few camping options available, and a few hotels,  and always worth checking to see what their status is like.  But if you are looking for all the comforts of home, you can find some absolutely beautiful homes in Yosemite to call your own for a truly unique experience! And perfect for your Scenic Vows elopement! 🤪

We’ve made a list of some of our favorites, and gone ahead and separated this into a few different areas that will give you a good idea of where in Yosemite they are, and how far they are to the Valley or Tuolumne. And one thing to keep in mind,  it’s always a great idea to check on the local road conditions before getting to the park!  It’s a good idea to not count on your GPS too, phone service is the worst in the mountains — and to top it all off, if your GPS does work it will likely not work correctly and you’ll end up more lost than you could hope for!

Foresta (more than an airbnb near Yosemite, it’s in the park!)

Foresta is very small, privately owned,  community within Yosemite.  With only a 10-20 minute drive from the Valley, these homes are so close to the Valley that you can have your very own view of El Cap and Half Dome from your window!

Yosemite West

Yosemite West is another small area that is within the National Park. This community  is located near the turn off for Glacier Point and Badger Pass.  You can expect about a 30 minute drive down to the valley from here, or if you are looking for some skiing in the winter you’ll only be about 6 miles from the Badger Pass!

Wawona & Fish Camp

These two locations are a bit further from Yosemite Valley (about 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes respectively), but both are great spots to call home for a bit. Wawona is inside the park and home to the giant sequoias in the Mariposa Grove, and if that is not enough, there is a 9-hole golf course (with a recent addition of some disc golf baskets!).  Fish Camp is another great spot about 10 minutes from Wawona, and right outside the park gate.

Midpines & Mariposa

Mariposa and Midpines are about an hour to an hour and a half from Yosemite Valley. Midpines is a tad bit closer, but you are basically in the town of Mariposa. The drive into the valley follows along the mighty Merced River. You’ll see loads of wildflowers in the spring, and you can almost always bet that the road will be free from snow or ice in the winter (the elevation is almost always below the snow level).

June Lake & Mammoth Lakes

Ok, so these Airbnb near Yosemite might not be inside the park –but are so worth a stop that you might decide to come for a visit here anyway — maybe even break up the drive back to LA or SoCal!

June Lakes, aka the Alps of the Sierra, is about 2 1/2 hours from Yosemite Valley.  Mammoth Lakes is about 20 minutes further south.  The East Side of the Sierra is spectacular every season of the year, but beware that the Tioga Pass Road (Hwy 120 East) is closed during the winter – generally Oct – May.
