Adventurous Stanley Idaho Elopement

If you’re looking for Stanley Idaho elopement inspiration, this is the blog for you! Chuck and Kimberly planned their Stanley Idaho elopement last summer in a little over a month and it was amazing. Their day was packed full of fun and adventure while still having downtime to soak in the little moments. If you’ve been looking for the perfect location, we highly recommend considering a Stanley Idaho elopement!

Stanley Idaho Elopement First Look

Chuck and Kimberly reached out to us at Scenic Vows about their elopement with only 6 weeks to plan everything! We dove into researching locations based on what they were looking for and when we suggested Stanley, Idaho, they were sold!

They stayed in a cute cabin in the woods and got dressed there on the morning of their elopement. They wanted to do a first look so we suggested that they drive “chauffeur style” to the spot we picked out, meaning one person drove and the other sat in the back and they did their best not to look at each other! It worked out perfectly and when they arrived, we walked Chuck out to a beautiful clearing in a meadow with views of the Sawtooth Mountains in the background. Kimberly walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder and the love and admiration in Chuck’s eyes when he turned around was everything!

Riding Side-by-Sides in a Wedding Dress and Suit

When figuring out a timeline for Chuck and Kimberly’s Stanley Idaho elopement, we mentioned the idea of renting side-by-sides to go explore some of the trails around Stanley. Well, they absolutely loved this idea so after their first look, we headed over to Sawtooth Traxx to get suited up for our ride!

The folks at Sawtooth Traxx were great and so excited to see a woman wearing a wedding dress and a man wearing a suit walk up to rent some side-by-sides. They gave us a quick rundown of how to operate the side-by-sides and where to head for the best views in Stanley. We took off down the road and quickly jumped onto a trail that took us up above the town, through a forest, tons of fields of lupin, and up to a fire lookout.

If you’re considering this beauty of a location,
we’d love to chat about working together!

Or maybe Stanley, Idaho elopement might not be the place for you, so check out our picks for the Best Places in the US to elope!

Stanley Fire Tower Lookout

When we arrived at the Fire Lookout, we got off the side-by-sides and walked up a short hill to the lookout to check things out. Every direction you looked had breathtaking mountain views! It was a great spot to stop and take a quick break and Chuck, being Chuck, wanted to take some classic “prom” pictures so of course we had to include those in the day. Honestly, we wish we had more time during this Stanley Idaho elopement to explore around the fire lookout!

Elopement Taco Truck Dinner

After spending some time at the Fire Lookout, we headed back to town so we could grab some dinner before their elopement ceremony. When we asked them what they wanted to eat on their elopement day, they both said tacos! Lucky for them, there’s a taco truck in downtown Stanley, Idaho called Dogtown Tacos. We stopped by for a quick bite, chatted with some locals, and headed off for their Stanley Idaho elopement ceremony.

Stanley Idaho Elopement Ceremony

Chuck and Kimberly really wanted somewhere private for their Stanley Idaho elopement ceremony, so when we mentioned that we knew the perfect place, they were so excited. We had hiked out to Fish Hook Creek the previous year and couldn’t get over how perfect it would be for a Stanley Idaho elopement location! It’s a relatively easy and short trail that snakes through a forest and along the creek until you get to a clearing and have amazing views of the Sawtooth Mountains.

When we arrived at the clearing, Chuck and Kimberly took some time to touch up and get ready after their exciting afternoon of side-by-sides and hiking. Kimberly looked beautiful with her hair gently pulled back to one side and a stunning wedding gown. Chuck couldn’t get his tie tied so we turned to Youtube for some assistance and when it was finally straight, we headed over to a spot next to the creek for their elopement ceremony.

The thing about having a Stanley Idaho elopement is that the landscape is absolutely stunning and yet you don’t see nearly as many people as you would in a national park or even some state parks. We didn’t see a single person as Becky officiated the ceremony and Chuck and Kimberly said “I do”. It was so beautiful and intimate.

Sunset Sawtooth Mountain Views

After a champagne toast (or two), we started hiking back to the cars, attempting to make it back to a spot in Stanley for the sunset. At the last minute, we decided to go to a backup location so we could catch the very end of the sunset and it ended up being perfect. There are really no bad elopement locations in Stanley Idaho.
